Over the last 6 years, the Foundation has been looking at projects in the north of Scotland from Fraserburgh in the East to Lochaber in the Highlands and across the Minch to the very north of Lewis.  The official description for the Foundation’s geographical reach has been ‘North East of Scotland and the Highlands and Islands’.  It has proved difficult at times for potential applicants to determine if they are within the reach of this Foundation.  With our ‘hands on’ approach to projects, it has also made it challenging for us to investigate those projects which are distant to our base.

In a recent Strategy Review, trustees have looked again closely at the boundaries set down for potential projects.  After a great deal of deliberation, only projects within the following local authority areas in Scotland will be eligible for consideration by the Foundation:

Moray

Aberdeenshire

Aberdeen City

Eilean Siar (Western Isles)

Highland

Orkney Islands

Shetland Islands

We look forward to hearing from you.
